Book Character Parade

On Friday morning Miss Melville did the roll then room 28/29 went out outside on the court. The over classes went arond the court it was cool but I didn't dressup. sum pepil there dreesup as robin hod and in my class there dresstup as littel riding hod  and I enjoyed the book charcter parade.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Trip To Motat

I went to Motat and my dad cam to We look  around  and I wont to go  there  again.  motat is cool and I saw a fire engine.  this is photo is when you have to stand on a stil and it takes your photo and it go on the   screen we went to Motat for a trip to lean olden day this

First the bus came and he got on  and  my dad came we  started    to sing but I bid  

Then we  got of  we w to the meeting plays and had morning tea  

Next    we looked a ur  the plays then we came back to the meeting plays and had lunch

Finally we went back to school I had  a great time at Motat

I though t that Motat was  cool and fun leaning olden days  things.

My Reflection

I was learning to answer questions about the story.  I found this kind of easy because it as easy to find the compound words.  My next step is to read a harder story.

My Reflection

I was learning to skip count in 10's and 20's.  I found this a little bit tricky because I am still learning to skip count.  My next step is to practice skip counting more.

I was learning to make tidy numbers.  I found hard because it was hard to add them together.  Mrs Nightingale helped me and I used blocks.  My next step is to practise more.

Summarising

I am learning to summarise information from text. I found this hard.  Mr Wright helped me with all of it.   I need to do more practise on summarising.

For this task we had to write a fractured fairy tale. I thought this was fun because I got to write my own story.

Term 4 week 6

My Weekend

On the weekend me and my sister and my dad  went to the pools.When I got in the water I started to play  when I got my green ball that I had got from my birthday I played with it and my sister then a boy joined in.

and I went under water. then I and my sister and dad went home.

and I played on  the Computer at home and I was playing  minecraft  I built  a small house and for dinner I had hot dogs.
 My favorite part was playing in the pool.

Term 4 week 5

On Sunday I Watched spider man  First the movie started. In the movie spider man was on the roof and  there was a man standing on the floor. Spider man had a cut sum blood fell from his cut  on to the floor. The man  went to the door but then he turned back then he looked up but ! Spider man was gone.then  man went and looked over the balcony but spider man was hiding under the balcony.And before hi was spider man. Hi went for a trip and saw spiders. There was glass boxes with spider as well but there was one  gone. a spider and web and his real name was Peter .peter was taking  photos of a Girl then a spider came down and bit Peter then he had ability to climb walls. And I liked it.

Term 4 Week 4

Rugby World cup  Final

I was in bed my bad came in I got up and had a shower  then I  got  dressed  I looked  at the TV  and  the  All blacks were doing the haka . after that  the game started.I was scared that Australia wood win  the game. it was grate and had Milo at the end of the game  I was happy because all blacks win the wold cup.  and  all blacks got the trophy. in the afternoon I played  with my neighbors  my bad built a tree house but isn't done .yet is a gate plays to read books on the tree house  then we went on the tramp and played then my neighbors went home

Treasure from the Sea

Sweeping term 3

Last Wednesday me and Blake started to sweep in the car park by the hill.we went to mr walkers shed and asked him if he had any jobs we can helped him with. We  asked him if we could sweep the car park because it look dirty. Mr walkers said"yes" so we started to sweep the car park.we could sweep for five minis because the bell was going to ring and Blake said to me "Hurry up we need to get this done before the bell!" The bell rang and we froze and put the tools away. Then we went back to class. The we got to class we Did some learning be for the bell went then the morning tea. At morning tea we went to Mr Walkers shed and got the tools out. Blake and I had a great time together helping Mr Walker at morning tea. Last Thursday and Friday Blake sweet by himself. On Monday Blake and I did sweeping together and we had fun. On Tuesday Blake and Nathan swept and the had fun too. On Wednesday it was raining at morning tea so Blake and Joshua couldn't sweep but we swept at lunchtime because it was outside play.  Blake and Joshua swept the puddles down the drain and Blake was coming along and Blake didn't see a puddle on the driveway. He stood in the puddle and he for slashed up his uniform. He sid I give up.  Turday mornings tea Blake and Joshua did sweeping. I didn't do any more sweeping this week.

I have been learning about Explanation writing  I now know that explanatim  writing  tells about how  some thing works I found the quiz  tricky  because ... some questions  I dint now  My next step is to write own explanation .

My Reflection

This art work took lots of time to do and lots of effort.  It is my drawing of Tu, the Maori God of War.   

Learning About Adjectives

I was learning to add adjectives to give my sentences more meaning.

I have to remember to use adjectives that make the picture clear for my reader.

I thought this activity was easy because I had some amazing ideas and some adjectives in my mind that were amazing.

My best adjective was juicy because it sounds great.

My next step is to use adjectives in my own stories to make them interesting.

Rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100

My Reflection

I have been learning to round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. I found tricky because I had to work out where it was near to in the number. I could use a numberline to help me work it out. My next step is to keep trying and learning how to do this without a numberline.

Recognising and Understanding Prefixes

My Reflection
I have been learning to recognise and understand prefixes.  I now know that when a prefix, like un is added to the beginning of the word it changes the meaning of the word.  This can help me understand what words mean.  I found this a bit tricky and Mrs Melville helped me.  My next step is to keep working on this.

Term 2 Week 2

The whole class made poppies. We fold the paper.  The paper looked like a little square.  Then we drawed the petal on.  Then we cut it.  Then the little poppy petals were joined together.  We glued the poppy then we put the poppy seed inside.  We let them to dry.  Mrs Melville put the poppies up on the ANZAC display.  We put them there because they are a special flower and they poppies by the gravestone.

Comparing Characters

My Reflection

I have been learning to describe and compare characters in the story.  We read a story my Michael Morpurgo called Who's a Big Bully Then?  I had to compare the bully and the main character.  I found this tricky because it was hard to think of some words to describe them. My next step is to listen more carefully to the story.

Autumn cinquain

We were learning how to write a cinquain poem.  We wrote poems to describe Autumn Leaves.  I liked writing this poem because it was interesting and exciting.  We wrote a list of words together to help us.

Term 1 Week 6

On Tuesday  Mrs Melville read the Super Squid to the class the pictures were cool.  My favourite part was when the squid wrapped its big scary arms around the Sub DD.  

African Praise Poem

I have been learning to write an African Praise Poem.  I found this piece of work tricky because it was hard work.

Term 1 week 5

I  went to Te Tuhi and I did some amazing art.  We made our own tapa cloth pictures.  We used pastel, dye, a piece of paper and a vivid.  I put symbols to show my family, my home, the sky tower on it.  It was good.  it was amazing    

Venn Diagram New Years Comparison

        

L.A.L.T find similarities and differences in a text.  We have been reading about Chinese New Year.  We used a venn diagram to compare Chinese  and New Zealand  New Year.  I found this hard because I didn't know much about Chinese New Year.The next step is I need to practice finding more information. 

My 2015 Welcome Post

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog.  This year I am in Room 28/29 and my teachers are Mrs Graham and Mrs Melville.  I enjoy playing soccer.  This year I am looking forward to the sleepover.  I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
